After the peel, the skin may look and feel like a mild windburn for the next 2-3 days. The degree and length of peeling vary from person to person, and treatment to treatment. After approximately 48 hours, flaking may occur.

Although most people experience peeling, not every patient notices that their skin peels. Lack of peeling is NOT an indication that the peel was unsuccessful. If you do not notice actual peeling, you are still receiving all the benefits of the Vitalize Peel, such as stimulation of collagen production, improvement of skin tone and texture, and diminishment of fine lines and pigmentation. Limit sun exposure during treatment and for at least one week afterward. Use a sunscreen with an SPF 30.

Illuminize Peel™

Also known as the Party Peel or Bridal Peel. One of the most important features of the Illuminize Peel™ from SkinMedica is you get the benefits of a chemical peel without the long downtime or irritation. This is especially important if you have an upcoming event at which you want to look your best. Your skin will look rejuvenated and glowing.

The Illuminize Peel® is ideal for first-time chemical peel patients or patients looking for a gentle, very superficial peel. It is gentle enough to use on all skin types and can be repeated every two weeks until the desired results are achieved. Results are cumulative and maximum benefits are seen with a series of 3 or more peels.
