Blood vessels are normally hidden underneath our skin, but they can become quite noticeable when broken or damaged. Spider veins on your face or legs can be difficult to conceal and impossible to eradicate without professional help. Luckily, ClearV® is here to help remove unwanted veins on the face and body, leaving you with beautiful skin.

Vascular lesions are a common cosmetic problem that we encounter at Wink Medical Aesthetics. They can happen for a variety of reasons — including your genes, health conditions, lifestyle choices and the aging process — and they can take many different forms, such as spider veins, port wine stains, hemangiomas and broken capillaries.

If you are tired of relying on makeup or clothing to hide vascular lesions that make you feel self-conscious, it may be time to consider ClearV®. This laser treatment is made with advanced technology that selectively targets vascular skin concerns without affecting your skin. Treatment is quick, painless and requires no downtime.

What Is ClearV®?

ClearV® is a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser developed by Sciton that eliminates vascular lesions on the face and body. It offers precise and targeted treatment of vascular structures found just beneath the skin to make them less noticeable over time. It can also be used to reduce the appearance of acne, scars, warts and other superficial concerns.

Vascular lesions are common. They include a wide range of cosmetic issues caused by problems with the veins found underneath your skin, from broken capillaries to certain forms of birthmarks. These problems are permanent unless removed with treatments like laser therapy.
While there are countless light-based solutions that promise to eradicate vascular lesions, ClearV® has become today’s gold standard. It removes vascular lesions effectively and comfortably using the latest technological advancements.

How ClearV® Works

Like other laser vein therapies, ClearV® works by destroying problem vessels with heat generated by light energy. In this case, a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser is used because it can precisely target hemoglobin, a pigment-rich protein found in veins. The light energy only affects the hemoglobin, so the surrounding skin, nerves and other structures are not damaged during treatment.

ClearV® has many advantages over similar therapies thanks to its cutting-edge technology. Sciton has integrated a number of features into this platform to make treatment more effective, precise and comfortable. These technologies are:

Subsurface Vein Illumination (SVI™)

This technology uses two colors of light to enhance the visibility of hidden subsurface and feeder veins, which other technologies may miss and thus make treatment less effective. It also offers custom color blending and three brightness intensities for more precise treatment.

Integrated Spot Size Adjustment (VascuZoom)

Treating vascular lesions requires maximum precision. An adjustable ring added directly on the touch display allows providers to adjust the spot size between 2-10mm, giving us more control over how the laser energy is delivered.

Adjustable Integrated Cooling in 1-Degree Increments

An integrated sapphire cooling tip has also been added to allow cooling between 5-25 ˚C before, during and after treatment. This feature makes treatment not only more comfortable but also safer.

What ClearV® Treats

ClearV® can be used on the face and body on all skin types, any time of year. It was primarily designed to treat all forms of vascular lesions quickly, effectively and with a reduced need for downtime. The concerns we frequently treat with this technology are:

  1. Spider veins
  2. Spider angiomas
  3. Periorbital veins
  4. Reticular leg veins
  5. Cherry angiomas
  6. Venous lakes
  7. Port wine stains
  8. Rosacea

Additionally, ClearV® can be used to treat warts and acne.

Areas Treated With ClearV®

ClearV® can be used on nearly any area of the face and body thanks to its high precision and efficiency:

  • Face (including the sensitive eye area)
  • Neck and chest
  • Arms and legs
  • Back and abdomen
  • Feet and hands

Combining ClearV® With Other Treatments

Aesthetic practitioners frequently combine ClearV® with other therapies to deliver better, more comprehensive results. Because many vascular lesions also cause or are accompanied by pigment changes, we often combine this treatment with BBL® HERO™️, another treatment developed by Sciton.

BBL® HERO™️ uses an advanced type of intense pulsed light to treat redness and other pigment changes on a wide area of skin. As with ClearV®, treatment is quick, painless and requires no downtime.

FAQs

Is ClearV® painful?

Despite using laser energy, this treatment is not painful. We usually apply local anesthesia before treatment to maintain your comfort. The device itself comes with integrated cooling technology to further reduce pain both during and after treatment.

How long does treatment take?

Treatment with ClearV® is typically quick, lasting between five and 30 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area.

How many ClearV® treatments will I need?

Most patients need to undergo a series of treatments to achieve their desired results. How many treatments you will need depends on the specifics of your case, but patients typically need three to four sessions spaced several weeks apart.

When will I notice the results?

Results appear gradually with this treatment because it takes time for the treated vascular lesions to be absorbed by your body. The usual time between treatment and seeing visible changes is four to six weeks.

How long will my results last?

Once the vascular lesions are removed with ClearV®, they’re gone for good. However, new lesions may form in some cases. Getting follow-up treatments is necessary in such cases.

What is the aftercare for ClearV®?

You can resume your usual activities immediately after ClearV®. However, we do advise avoiding direct sun exposure, vigorous workouts, saunas, hot tubs, pools, shaving and harsh skincare ingredients for at least two days post-treatment.
