About JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA® XC

JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA® XC is one of several hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers developed by Allergan Aesthetics. This particular filler was designed to address mid-face volume loss and has been FDA-approved for use in those who are 21 years or older to provide lift and contour to the cheek area.

HA — the active ingredient in this dermal filler — is a sugar molecule that is naturally found in the skin and known to hold 1,000 times its weight in water. When the synthetic form of this molecule is injected under the skin, it adds immediate volume and lift, helping to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, hollows and sagging skin. As the product settles underneath the skin, it temporarily improves mid-face contours.

The Treatment

After your initial consultation, in which we discuss your concerns and carefully examine your facial contours to determine if VOLUMA® is right for you, we will proceed with your treatment.

To perform the injections, we use a very thin cannula to administer the product in your cheek area. Because each injection contains lidocaine, you won’t feel pain during your treatment. The injection process should take only about 20 minutes to complete.

After your treatment, you can resume your daily routine and may experience only minor bruising and swelling.

The Results
