Picture three of the most respected skin renewal lasers on the market, rebuilt into a single handpiece that treats every layer of your skin in one pass. That’s the leap HALO® TRIBRID™ represents, and at Wink Medical Aesthetics in Lakeway, we’re proud to be one of only three med spas in the greater Austin and Hill Country area to own this device. For our patients across Lakeway, Bee Cave, Dripping Springs, Steiner Ranch, and River Place, that means access to the most precise resurfacing technology Sciton has ever released, delivered in the warm, boutique setting Wink is known for.

What This Page Covers

Not Just Another Laser Resurfacing Treatment

Your skin is built in layers, and each layer ages differently. The surface dulls and roughens as cells stop turning over efficiently. The middle layer picks up pigment from years of Texas sunshine. The deeper dermis loses the collagen and elastin that gave you firm, springy skin in your twenties. For decades, addressing all three layers meant either choosing one to focus on or sitting through multiple treatments on different devices.

Sciton’s original HALO® Hybrid Fractional Laser changed that conversation. By combining a 1470 nm wavelength that gently heats the dermis with a 2940 nm wavelength that refines the surface, HALO produced significant skin improvement in 80% of patients on photographic analysis, with 100% patient satisfaction reported in a published multi-center clinical trial. The results were real, and the science is well-established.

But Sciton kept refining. In September 2025, they introduced a next-generation device that pulls a third wavelength into the same handpiece, with more power, smarter sensors, and the ability to treat the full depth of skin in a synchronized pass. We invested in the world’s first triple-wavelength resurfacing laser, because skin renewal deserves a device that can match its biology.

Three wavelengths. One handpiece. Comprehensive renewal in a single session.

Not a marketing distinction. A biological one.

From HALO Hybrid to HALO Tribrid

Before HALO Tribrid, full-depth resurfacing usually meant combining treatments: a HALO session for surface texture and pigment, then a separate MOXI® session for prejuvenation, sometimes layered with erbium resurfacing. The results were excellent, but the process meant multiple visits and multiple recovery periods.

Sciton’s HALO TRIBRID launched in September 2025 as the world’s first and only 3-in-1 customizable resurfacing laser, integrating Sciton’s top three award-winning laser treatments, HALO, MOXI, and Erbium Resurfacing, into a single handpiece. The three wavelengths can fire together in a synchronized pass for the full HALO Tribrid experience, or independently for more targeted protocols. Your provider at Wink builds the plan around what your skin actually needs.

The Three Wavelengths and What Each One Does

HALO Tribrid runs on Sciton’s JOULE®X platform with three independently controllable wavelengths, each matched to a specific layer of skin.

2940 nm: Surface Renewal

The 2940 nm erbium wavelength works at the very top layer of skin. It delivers controlled superficial resurfacing for texture improvement, smoother skin, and faster recovery. Think of it as a precise way to refine the outermost surface, soften fine lines, and reveal a fresh layer of skin. Clinical research on the 2940 nm erbium fractional laser has documented its effectiveness for pigmentation, uneven tone, and overall photoaging features.

1927 nm: Pigment Polishing

The 1927 nm thulium wavelength is the MOXI signature wavelength, now reengineered inside HALO Tribrid. This wavelength is now 2x more powerful (10 to 40 mJ), gently clearing superficial pigment, restoring luminosity, and delivering instant skin radiance without removing the surface layer. In a published clinical study of the 1927 nm thulium laser for facial photopigmentation, blinded physician evaluations documented moderate to very significant improvement in 82% of subjects at one month after treatment.

1470 nm: Deep Dermal Renewal

The 1470 nm wavelength is the heavy lifter for deeper structural change. This wavelength penetrates 300 to 700 microns and delivers treatments up to 50% faster than previous technologies, targeting deep dermal issues like tone, scarring, and long-term texture improvement. This is the wavelength that keeps producing results in the months after your visit as your skin’s natural collagen rebuilding response continues underneath.

With wavelengths that work alone and synergistically, providers can address texture, pigment, and deep dermal renewal in a single session, instead of choosing one concern at a time.

Smart Sensor Technology Built for Safety

Triple-wavelength power only helps if the device delivers it consistently. HALO Tribrid features Dynamic Thermal Optimization (DTO) that automatically adjusts energy in real time for precision and safety. Real-time optical tracking and color-guided feedback ensure smooth, even coverage, while smart navigation with safe-start settings reduces guesswork.

In practical terms, the device continuously senses your skin temperature and modulates each pulse to stay in the safe zone for results without overtreating any spot. Optical scanning ensures no area is skipped or double-treated.

What HALO Tribrid Treats

Because HALO Tribrid works at three layers simultaneously, it can address concerns that previously required separate treatments. HALO TRIBRID works beautifully on all skin types (I to VI on the Fitzpatrick scale) and can be performed on both the face and body.

We use HALO Tribrid at Wink for patients who want to renew:

  • Fine lines and early wrinkles
  • Sun damage and Hill Country pigmentation
  • Uneven skin tone and dullness
  • Enlarged pores and rough texture
  • Acne scars and other textural irregularities

Treatment areas include the face, neck, chest, hands, tummy, legs, and arms. For background on how fractional laser resurfacing has evolved, a published review of fractional laser skin resurfacing explains how fractional delivery struck the balance between safety and efficacy that older devices could not.

Your HALO Tribrid Experience at Wink

Every HALO Tribrid treatment starts with a complimentary consultation. Your provider, typically our laser specialists Nurse April or Nurse Morgan, will look at your skin, talk through your goals, and design a treatment plan personalized to you.

When you arrive for treatment, we apply a high-grade topical anesthetic and let it absorb for roughly 30 to 60 minutes. During treatment, motion-tracking technology measures the area to ensure even coverage and beautifully uniform results. Your laser specialist will glide the handpiece in passes across the area, while built-in cooling keeps you comfortable.

With numbing cream and built-in cooling, most patients find the treatment very tolerable. You may feel warmth and an occasional prickling sensation as the laser works, but it’s generally comfortable. The treatment usually takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the area and depth.

Afterward, your skin will feel warm, similar to a mild sun kissed glow, for the first hour. We’ll send you home with a clear aftercare plan and gentle products.

To support your recovery, we apply Platelet Derived Growth Factors (PDGF) to every HALO Tribrid treatment. PDGF works by signaling the skin cells involved in repair and regeneration, which helps calm post-treatment heat, reduce downtime, and support your body’s natural production of collagen and hyaluronic acid. Patients who might otherwise feel significant warmth after treatment typically notice that sensation drop quickly after PDGF is applied.

Recovery and Results

Mild swelling and redness in the treated area usually subside within three to four days. Over the next two to three days, you may notice a bronzed, sandpaper-like texture on the surface as the renewal process unfolds. These naturally flake away by day four or five, revealing fresh, renewed skin underneath.

You’ll start noticing changes in as little as 2 to 5 days. Most patients see the biggest pigment improvements within the first 2 to 3 weeks, followed by continued dermal renewal over thenext 3-6 months as your skin’s natural collagen rebuilding response unfolds.

For most patients, one or two HALO Tribrid treatments per year are enough to maintain renewed, refined skin.

Why Choose Wink Medical Aesthetics for HALO Tribrid

Wink Medical Aesthetics opened in November 2010 when Michele Wood, L.E., MBA, and her husband Gregg Wood, M.D., set out to build a place where patients could access the most advanced medical aesthetic technology in a warm, boutique setting. More than 15 years later, that philosophy still shapes every appointment.

One of only three med spas in Austin with HALO Tribrid. Sciton launched the device in September 2025, and Wink invested in it at launch. Our patients don’t wait for the technology to trickle down.

Laser specialists factory trained on the full Sciton platform. Nurse April and Nurse Morgan hold certifications across the Sciton suite, including TriBRid HALO, HALO, MOXI, BBL® HEROic, ClearV, and BareHR.

Master-level credentialing under our co-founder. Michele Wood, our co-founder, holds master-level certifications in HALO TRIBRID, HALO, MOXI, BBL HEROic, and CoolSculpting, with training through the Allergan Medical Institute. She is also recognized as a Top 1% Allergan Diamond Provider for 2026.

Boutique setting, not a factory. Wink is small, intentionally. Our patients aren’t numbers. We know your name, your goals, and what you’ve tried before. Sophisticated treatments should be delivered in an environment that feels personal and unhurried.

Medical Director oversight. All medical treatments are overseen by Gregg Wood, M.D., a board-certified physician with the American Board of Anesthesiology and a Texas medical license. That clinical foundation is part of what allows us to offer advanced energy-based devices safely.

“I had an amazing experience at Wink. Have been going to Wink for 6 years for Botox and have always been happy with those results. I have just tried the Halo laser treatment. Received all the information about the treatment beforehand and also during it. Texted me the next morning to ask how I was doing. Told me to call anytime if I had a concern. Went over and above as far as I’m concerned! Would never go anywhere else for procedures involving my face!”

Frequently Asked Questions

What Makes HALO Tribrid Different From the Original HALO?

HALO Tribrid adds a third wavelength to the original HALO platform. The original HALO Hybrid combined a 1470 nm wavelength with a 2940 nm wavelength for surface and deep renewal. HALO Tribrid adds the 1927 nm Thulium laser (MOXI), which specifically targets pigment and tone in the upper layers, allowing all three wavelengths to fire together in a single synchronized pass. The result is comprehensive renewal of texture, pigment, and deep dermal quality in one session.

How Many HALO Tribrid Treatments Do I Need?

Most patients see their best results with one to two HALO Tribrid treatments per year. Your provider will create a personalized plan based on your unique skin concerns and goals. Some patients prefer a single deeper session annually, while others opt for two lighter sessions spaced across the year.

Is HALO Tribrid Safe for All Skin Types?

Yes. HALO TRIBRID works beautifully on all skin types (I to VI on the Fitzpatrick scale) and can be performed on both the face and body. Your provider at Wink customizes the wavelength selection, depth, and density based on your specific skin type and goals.

Does HALO Tribrid Hurt?

HALO Tribrid is well tolerated. A topical numbing cream is applied for 30 to 60 minutes before treatment, and the device has integrated cooling that further keeps you comfortable. Most patients describe the sensation as warmth with occasional prickling. Built-in Dynamic Thermal Optimization continuously adjusts energy in real time to keep the experience consistent.

What Is the Recovery Period Like?

Most patients return to their normal routine within 2-7 days depending upon their particular treatment settings. Expect mild redness and a warm sun kissed appearance for 24 to 48 hours, followed by a brief renewal phase where surface texture refines as fresh skin replaces the treated layer. Mild swelling and redness in the treated area usually subside within three to four days.

When Will I See Results?

You’ll start noticing changes within the first week, with the most visible pigment improvements showing up in the first two to three weeks. Deeper renewal continues for months afterward as your skin’s natural collagen rebuilding response unfolds. Results can last for years with proper sun protection and skincare maintenance.

Can HALO TRIBRID Be Combined With Other Treatments?

Yes. HALO TRIBRID pairs beautifully with BBL HEROic® to improve sun damage, pigmentation, redness, and overall skin quality. We also include PDGF following treatment to support healing and enhance collagen production. BOTOX® for expression lines, dermal fillers for facial balancing, Ultherapy for skin tightening, and Sculptra® biostimulators for long-term collagen rebuilding. Your provider will create a personalized treatment plan during your consultation.
